Specific restrictions can change from year to year, so you should check for this year’s restrictions at the beginning of the season.

Species specific restrictions include such items like bag restrictions and laws surrounding baiting of wildlife. All hunting requires a hunting license. You can purchase your license each year, or in some cases, apply for a lifetime license. In general, hunting licenses are not required for those under the age of 17.
Regulations can vary based on whether you’re on public or private duck hunting land in Texas, so it’s important to ensure that you know the rules before you go hunting. For example, hunters are not required to wear fluorescent orange when hunting on privately owned land, though it is recommended.
